Maisie and Double Dutch

The Cottage Mama is releasing two new patterns, the Double Dutch Cardigan and the Maisie Skirt and leggings and I had the opportunity to test both patterns.  I have tested for Lindsay before, over a year ago when I tested the Maitilda dress and Daphne wrap dress (for a tiny little Em!), Lindsay was actually the first designer I ever tested for! I also tested her free Party Dress pattern earlier this year.  This will be the last Cottage Mama pattern I test, but probably not the last I sew.

The two new patterns include the Double Dutch Cardigan, a sweet little cardigan with elbow patches and an optional ruffle around the neckline and at both sleeves.

And the Maisie, which includes a skirt and ruffled leggings.

I sewed up this set of leggings and a cardigan in view B as well.

In my late night sewing frenzy, I left the ruffle Off this pair of leggings.  I really am a much better sewist in the early morning hours than I am late at night! But I love the pants without the ruffle too.

In addition to the two new patterns, she is also releasing a set of appliques.  I sewed one of them, a little deer, on a tank to match her set.

The three pieces are fun together, but I had a lot of fun mixing and matching them for the photos too.

And those big pockets on the skirt were perfect for stashing candy so Em would stand still for the photos ;)

Georgia Vintage Dress

I have a new fabric obsession, gingham!  This is the third dress I have made this month with gingham fabric, I just can't get enough of it!  When The Cottage Mama announced a sewing competition, I just knew I had to make the Georgia Vintage Dress in a classic red gingham print.

I made a Georgia Vintage Dress for Em over a year ago and it is still one of my favorite dresses I have ever made her.  So, I don't know why I waited a whole year to make a second one, but I fell in love with this dress pattern all over again this time!  I love this classic look, so sweet and girly.

I paired my red gingham with some red kona cotton and some eyelet lace.  My original plan was to have the eyelet lace on the outside of the front bib, but it was a bit too big and I didn't want it to get caught up in the sleeve seams.  So instead, I flipped it in over the top of the bib, I love it even more that way!  I lined the sleeves with gingham and added some small crochet trim to the edge.

I added some eyelet lace around the bottom of the overskirt too.  I really like the two layer skirt, it adds a little extra volume.

The dress closes in the back with three white buttons and ties with a big bow.

Em is smitten with her new yellow shoes.  She calls them her Minnie Mouse shoes :)

Desert Rose Dress

I love trying out new pattern designers.  When I had the chance to review the Desert Rose Dress by Caila Made, I jumped at the chance.  I have followed Caila's blog for a bit and love her style, and her gorgeous photos of her little girl are fun to look at too :)  Today I am over at Pattern revolution sharing my review of this sweet dress!

 

I sewed this dress up for Em in this fun bicycle print, it is Crusin' by Henry Glass and Co. and the orange is Matilda by Timeless Treasures.  This dress totally fits her personality!

The Ash Jumpsuit

I shared this jumpsuit over a Pattern Revolution a few weeks ago so you may have already seen it.  But it is so cute I think it deserves to be shared again :)  This is the adorable Ash Jumpsuit, a pattern by Willow and Co.  I have sewn over half of Willow and Co's patterns already and they are all great! This one was no exception.  (You can take a look at some of the other Willow and Co patterns I have sewn...Clover Shorts, Persimmon dress, Mulberry Tunic, fawn Lilly tunic, and this post has more Clovers and an Aster Cardigan)

Soooo cute, right?  This jumpsuit is perfect for running, climbing, and playing.  And I love that it has no buttons or zippers so my 2 year old can get it on by herself.  It has a halter top with an elastic casing around the neck and back, as well as elastic at the waist and optional elastic at the hem.

 

I picked up this small print floral at Joann's and paired it with a navy solid at the waist.  I made a size 2 and it fits her like a store bought size 2.  She is small so it has a bit of growing room which I am happy about, this is going to be adorable in spring!
