First up in the tour is Gracious Threads (you can learn more about Jess, the woman behind gracious threads here). I got to sew up the Gracious Threads Starfish Shorts and they turned out so cute!
The starfish shorts are a knee length short with and elastic waist and a drawstring front. They have some cute cargo style pockets with a decorative button on the sides. They look adorable on my girl, but would totally work for boys too!
When I had the chance to sign up for a pattern on the tour, I immediately signed up for these shorts! We have really hot summers here so shorts are a staple, and I am always on the look out for cute shorts patterns. This pattern certainly did not disappoint!
The pattern is professionally drafted with really great photos and instructions that are easy to follow. They are a really quick sew and the fit is spot on! I sewed them up in some Riley Blake Saltwater fabric I had left over from this skirt, those seahorses will be perfect for summer!
The pattern comes in sizes 2-12. I really love them for my 2 year old! The drawstring in the front is functional and helps to keep the shorts up, but with the elastic back she can still dress herself and doesn't have to mess with the tie. She isn't quite ready for buttons either, but the buttons on the side are just a cute decorative touch, the pockets open at the very top so she is able to fill those up with all her treasures.
To celebrate the Pattern Tour, Gracious Threads is offering a coupon code! You can recieve 15% your purchase from her shop using the code CANADATOUR and that code will be good through June 8th. So if you have been eyeing and Gracious Threads patterns, go grab them now!
